Argonautica

I have counted 143 speeches in Apollonius’ Argonautica, together 1714 lines or 29.40% of the entire poem. The averages length is 11.98 lines. There are 46 individual speaking characters. I have only discerned one example of reported speech, namely the potential τις-speech (3.795-7) in one of Medea’s soliloquies (3.771-801).
